Hiking hiking hiking....

The southern part of the park is still under snow due to the harsh winter here in Yellowstone. We have been hiking in the north part, Larmar and around Gardiner. Because of the snow, the animals are low. Buffalo are all about, in roads, parking areas, walking through Gardiner. Fortunately they do not seem agressive. Although they have a growling sound they make frequently which can be heard when one is near them.

We have seen grizzleys, fox, gophers, bluebirds. Lots of elk, mule deer and of course thousands of buffalo. We hiked a lot last year in Hayden Valley- this recent photo shows how inaccessible it is this year due to snow.
